Which guide is right for me?

The Breathable Nursery Edit offers three distinct nursery directions with cohesive palettes and carefully selected furnishings. It is a clear point of view and edited starting point for building your nursery one decision at a time.

The Well-Curated Nursery expands each nursery direction into a complete room with all furnishings, nursery essentials, detailed material evaluations, and every decision made. You don't need to spend months researching every detail — we've done the work for you.

Every recommendation within both guides is individually vetted to the Briar House standard.

What does "vetted" mean?

Every product we recommend has been evaluated for material composition, certifications, quality of construction, and longevity — not just aesthetics. We focus on material integrity rather than perfection. We prioritize no and low-emission materials, natural fibers, and when thoughtful trade-offs are made we name them honestly and explain why. Every recommendation is evaluated individually rather than relying on certifications or marketing claims alone.

How do I know which design direction is right for my room?

Each room includes lighting guidance, material mood boards, and a distinct palette that defines the design. If your room has unique constraints or you have a vision that doesn't align with one of the three directions, Custom Design may be the better fit.

Do I need to follow every recommendation exactly?

No. The guides are intended to simplify decisions and reduce research fatigue, not eliminate flexibility. You can implement the rooms exactly as designed, or use our vetting framework to adapt elements to your needs and budget.

Why don't you recommend products solely based on certifications?

Certifications are valuable, but they are only one part of the picture. We evaluate composition, construction, finishes, and real-world trade-offs to determine whether a product aligns with the Briar House standard.

Can I trust an entire brand because one of its products is recommended?

Not necessarily. Material integrity is a product-by-product decision. A single clean product is never a green flag for an entire line. Every recommendation is individually selected with that in mind.

What if a recommended product becomes unavailable?

Many of the pieces featured come from small makers, artisan workshops, and heritage brands. Availability changes over time. If a selection becomes unavailable, we are happy to recommend a current alternative that maintains the same design direction and material integrity.

Can I purchase the shop pages separately?

No. The shop pages are included exclusively with their corresponding guide and are intended to complement the publication rather than replace it.

Is Briar House paid to recommend products?

No. Every product in our guides is selected based on material integrity, construction quality, and design merit. We do not accept paid placements. Some links may be affiliate links, meaning we may earn a small commission if you purchase — at no additional cost to you. This never influences which products we recommend or how we evaluate them.

Is Custom Design only for nurseries?

While Briar House is launching with nursery publications, our Custom Design service is available for any room in your home.

Is this an in-home design service?

No. Custom Design is a fully virtual service available to clients everywhere. Every design is created specifically for your room using your measurements, photos, and intake questionnaire.

How long does Custom Design take?

Custom Design projects are delivered within 21 business days. Your design arrives fully resolved — every piece selected to work as part of the whole. If a selection doesn't suit your needs, your project includes one collected round of refinements: gather any requests into a single reply, and we'll deliver an updated source list with each replacement vetted to the same standard.
